Roger,
I just got off the phone with the US distributor for Bing in Kansas (02-02-15)...they informed me it will be at least another month.
Mike in Alaska
Does anybody know the full story with these floats? I don't get how they can make floats that are ok for years then all of a sudden any floats which were made after june 2012 are possibly faulty and the only way to fix them is to redesign. Why can't they just make more floats the same as the pre july 2012 ones?
Also shouldn't they be replaced by bing for free? Since its effectively a recall due to manufacturing fault
Hi Scott,
I do not know the whole story but I know it was nothing sinister or a conspiracy to make people unhappy. It was a manufacturing problem, as the saying goes, $hi! happens. Thats all I know.
Of course everyone was surprised; as you mentioned they were trouble free for 40+ years.
Rotax has a warranty program in place, they are responsible to replace the parts, not bing.
I dont have a crystal ball but the floats should be available in a couple of weeks. Dont shoot! My hands are up!
