finding the Rotax engine manufacture date and model

The 501 was built in Pik20e and one in an ASW15.

The 15 was lost in accident in 1989.

I expect it is this engine I have.

I'm quite sure there was no other use for 501.

I'm sure it's a 501 because of the crank case.

It seems to be overhauled. But I can't be sure until I disassembled and checked it.

I know about some ADs. E.g. changing piston bearings from cage to cageless.

I expected the SN is wrong. Normally the SN of the 501 starts with 3.......

Any Idea how to find out the SN?

A copy of the repair manual would be nice. Please sent.

If the serial number tag is gone, then it's unlikely anyone can confirm the serial number. We're still trying to dig the 501 manual out of the ancient paper archives for scanning. Stand by for an email in the next day or two...

Could you confirm, that there where built only about 100?

I know 98 Pik20E where build. And one ASW15BM.

If there are only a bit more than 100 then I would sure that it was only used for this.
