C gear box and clutch

I have a c gear box with clutch on my 582 blue head. I fly a Quick Silver with Floats and have a 4 blade propeller. My engine idles at 1750 RPMs with a maximum rpm speed of 6350. The clutch seems to engage at about 2100 rpms. Are these normal parameters for RPM speeds and clutch engagement or do I need to make some adjustments. If adjustments are recommended please include detail instructions. Remember it is important that the propeller does not spin when engine is at idle do to being able to navigate effectively when on the water. Any input is welcomed.

    Steve,

    Those numbers are normal for the clutch. There are no adjustments to make to change the speed at which the clutch engages. About all you ever have to do to the clutch is pull the gearbox every year or so to inspect the linings and liner retaining spring for wear.

    One good thing about the clutch design is that if the retainer spring should ever break, the prop simply would not disengage. As for lining wear, I ran mine for four years and had no measureable wear at all. It is a very dependable system.
