Franz Oil Thermostat Availability

Can someone help me find a way to buy a Franz oil thermostat part number 10700? Franz.de lists it at â‚¬200,21. I asked Flight Design U.S.A. about it and they quoted it to me at roughly $900. My family is on vacation in Germany right now. Any suggestions on where to buy this thermostat at a reasonable price would be very much appreciated. I don't know the German distribution system so don't know where to tell my family to look for it.

The Franz 10700 oil thermostat is an interesting design as it installs directly across the oil cooler. There are potential advantages to this design but also several disadvantages that are not immediately obvious. FWIW a customer of mine last year tried for months to buy one of these units but was ultimately unsuccessful. I don't know why.
You may be interested to know that Flight Design is now installing my product as optional original equipment at the factory.
