Re: Rotax Rubber hose replacement and why it's needed

The two most common faults I've seen that can cause premature hose failure are using screw type clamps and tightening them too tightly, and making bends in the hose with too small a radius too close to the hose barb.

Hi Bill,
I fully agree.
Not to mention some hoses I have seen on engines may date back to the Garden of Eden. ;)

Q. What is the shelf life of rotax rubber parts. If the parts are replaced in last year of shelf life, then the what will be the service life. Will it be valid for 5 years?

You have already answered your question

For sure the answer is no
take as an example your car tires they are normally good for 5 years from the date of fabrication.
So pay attention not only of the rubber parts that you are buying but also with your car tires.
