If you keep the pitch in and don't slow too much the windmill effect would most likely help a restart. I can shut my engine off in air and at 100 mph it will keep turning, just not as fast.

Starting an engine with the prop in feather puts a huge strain on the engine. Can you un-feather and then start? If not then it should be unfeathered ASAP.
Is this a 914F-3 with a un-feathering accumulator? or electric controller or??
Rob
I own and operate a Superximango, a motorglider and every one of my in air starts is fired up by shallow diving the aircraft to 85knots and bringing the prop pitch f4rom feather through course to fine manually.
I have had occassions when the engine tried to start in full feather, but I stopped this immediately rather than put a high stress on the engine. I believe it would have started in full feather if I had allowed this to happen.
