Oil comes into the gearbox from the crankshaft hollow centre. It is then distributed in a mist by the small drive gear to the propshaft. Since 2018 Rotax also added a oil spray nozzle to the back side of the overload clutch.
Weight of the oil is inconsequential in that it is dispersed into a mist and not a liquid mass as they seem to try and imply. Think of it this way, when you remove the gearbox from an engine there is almost zero volume of oil at the bottom of the housing. The mist is sucked back into the crankcase for recovery. Any slight change in oil volume as you might see with RPM changes is insignificant. Weight at the centre of the propshaft has no effect.
No just balance as normal. The balance is usually done on the backing plate for your spinner. You mount the pickup on the engine and it is checking the prop so the gearbox is part of the balance.
