Hi Glenn
I have a sling 2 and I changed out the 912 for the 914 with the Airmaster constant speed prop - Its a Machine as Mike says ! Talk to Sean Russell at TAF. Worth a phone call !
Good luck

If you are flying mostly at the coast, then take the 912IS. No need for a 914. We have plenty Sling2's at Morningstar in Cape Town and have great performance even when loaded to max.

Thank you John. I had the pleasure of flying with Sean earlier this week at Tedderfield. We put the 914 UL turbo. Very impressive. Sean a wealth of knowledge with heaps of experience in the Sling.

Thanks Rae, Good to know as I have not flown the Sling 2 here in Cape Town.
Is the Sling 2 you have flown powered by the 912IS or the 912IS Sport

I replied earlier about range and it seems to have not made it…
Not sure about fuel capacity on the Sling 2 but my 4 has 164litres which is enough to give me range of 6,5-7h which is about 3h longer than I’m happy to sit in a SEP and about 4h longer than my family will tolerate.
CT to Jhb is doable in one hop…. Not sure you’d want to go any further tbh?
