With my gearbox s/n being 66224 should I assume that it does not have the latest "oiler" as referenced in post #2 of this thread? My mission here is to determine what updates the engine will likely need before it goes in service in an RV-12iS I'm building.
I just verified that my gearbox s/n is 66224 and it is therefore clearly prior to the 74000 indicated above with the "new oiler" design. What is the new oiler design, how important is it, and can it be retrofitted?
Sorry to resurrect this old thread but how do I go about looking up the serial number of the gearbox on an engine I'm purchasing with the engine serial number? When I do the engine configurator it doesn't show the serial number of the gearbox. I'm trying to figure out if the gearbox has the updated oiler in it.
