Just had some emergency eye surgery yesterday that will ground me for 8weeks. With my Cirrus I would have been concerned letting the engine sit that long. Any issues with the Rotax sitting?
8 weeks will not hurt It.
Many engines spend the winter sitting for months in the northern states.
If you want to get anal about it ...
You may not be seeing well enough to fly but I am sure you are already seeing well enough to start the engine and circulate the Oil every few weeks.

as there is no steel in the cylinders it is no problem for the engine being grounded for 12 months.
The fuel is the main question.
If you are using 100LL it will store nicely, if you are using mogas, add some 100LL or fuel stabilizer.
Keep the fuel tanks full.(and carb bowls if you have them)
Good point. I had been moving more to 100LL due to some flaky things happening when using Mogas. I will go out and fill it up to make sure things are stabilized.
