yes Bob I did check the ASB-912i-007 and the ball in in there. In fact from putting paper towels and trying to trace the source of the leak it is not the temperature probe nor the sealing ball. It is above all that near the starter/stater case ABOVE the oil pressure probe as best I can tell. I was going to take off the starter and reinstall/torque. Is there some oil seal for a simple fix starter related? :-) I dread it being the interface with the stator case. :-(
Yes it is between the stator case and the engine along the mating seam. Any possibility and can fix it by retorquing ther strarter or replacing an O ring?
Same issue here. Started after stator work. I have removed, cleaned and reinstalled the oil temp sensor. Still leaks a tiny bit. I’ll check above the sensor tomorrow to see if it’s actually leaking at the case/stator seam and just dripping onto the sensor.
You can try and re-torque. If all else fails it may need to be re-sealed. I know some with the stator replacement only applied a thin film of sealant on one surface. I preferred both surfaces with sealant. Then if one side was a little too thin or there was a micro gap the second surface sealed it. I do the same on the gearbox.
