Battery backup warning light

Someone use a battery backup warning light? If yes, in which way is it connected?

We are not using a warning light. I can understand warning lights for door shoot bolts, oil pressure, fuel pressure etc... but it for a switch that has a guarded cover so the pilot has to make a conscious movement to turn it on? I think that it too much.
