I should add a little more clarity to my last post. Manifold pressure will drop as you open the throttle. balancing the carbs pneumatically only means that the butterfly valves are operating exactly together. With the butterflies nearly closed, balancing makes a big difference in air flow if one butterfly is set even slightly different from the other. The wider open the throttle is, the less effect balancing has on performance. Your problem sounds very much like an obstruction in the fuel line, jets, or galleries in one carb. The fact that it happened suddenly makes me suspect trash.

The symptoms you describe could be caused by a loose baffle in your muffler blocking the exhaust from exiting. If this is the problem, the exhaust should sound more muffled than normal. Would suggest you remove your muffler and give it a good shake listening for a loose baffle rattling around.

It can't be the muffler anymore, because we already took that apart and inspected it. There is an (in german they call it an LTA) on the dynamic saying you have to inspect the muffler and do some welding on it. At first we thought that would be the problem but it turned out not to be.

We will be dismantling the carbs first and see what comes up

Check your exhaust system for obstructions as well.....back pressure will cause a loss of power.

We have now checked and cleaned out both carbs with the same result as before, which means no more rev's then 4800 wheras it used to be 5200. So no improvement. please come with some more suggestions.
We also have checked the whole exhaust system. We think the only thing which is left to be checked is the ignition system.
