The Trigger gaps?
NO, I haven't. That might be fruitful. Thanks

I have not been on site in a year and came to it today for the same issue. I had just made a 15 min warm up and did 3 mag drops at 3500 rpm yielding the usual 80/100 drop range. An hour later on the start the key Basil was loose. Cinched it up and made the start ,at 2700 it dropped to 1700 an ran like a box of rocks. This is a 2002 A/B 601HD 600 tt. It’s up for inspection and going in this week or next hope I can contribute.I will be watching the thread

Ok, today I checked the trigger pickup gaps. All were in the range of spec except one. That one was at .011". I bumped that into spec.
No change on the big rpm drop. I also took a wire and grounded the "mag" ignitor wire directly so see if somehow it was the switch, but the problem is still there.
I did notice something new. It seemed to take a bit longer to start and it sounded like it wasn't quite up to rpm where I expected it to be. It then suddenly turned on in that it literally snapped to running faster and smoother. That was like 3-7 seconds after it started. It normally fires right up with almost no starter work.
NO clue what that was. I did just mess with the pickups and touched the braided feed lines.
So should I now buy a new harness with pickups now or is there something else? Thanks everyone. I'm so glad that this site exists.
