crankcase check for cracks

I know there is a service bulletin about cracks in the crankase dated 2006.
question: is it still actual ? any other s.b. about the matter is valid ?

    Paolo,

    The Rotax Service Bulletin for checking the crank case for cracks is SB-912-029 / 914-018 Revision 3.

    This check is mandatory at 100 hr intervals.

    If you have the new style crank case (on engines with 2000 hr TBO) the check is not required.

    An easy to way to check if your engine has the new style crank case is to look at the serial number of the crank case itself. This serial number is etched into the crank case and is located below the push rod tubes between cylinders 1/3 and 2/4 (one on each side of crank case).



    If your crank case serial number is a 7 digit number, beginning with 06 or higher, then it is the new style crank case and checking for cracks is not applicable.

    If your crank case serial number is a five digit number, then it is still affected by the Service Bulletin for crack checks.
