starter failure

I didn't believe they were still selling the old style black starter. I'll have to check into that.

I talked to Lockwood this morning, and changed the order to the HD gold starter.  They do have both, and the tech guy didn't specifically recommend upgrading.  It's $75 cheaper, and better, so there's not really any harm in getting the new one.  I may have to cut off the mounting ears as the SB suggests if it doesn't clear the ring mount.  We'll see soon enough.

The gold starter installed without any mods, and works just dandy.  Thanks for the comments!
