Prop hard to turn

Check out crankcase fretting on this forum. That is what you may be experiencing.

You have the old-style case, which was prone to fretting and consequently pinching the crankshaft.  Is it only hard to turn just at first?

I have read about the fretting and am concerned about that. Most reports seem that the hard turning is when the engine is hot and is better when the engine is cold. Seems to be the opposite in this case. 

my plan is to change oil and filter and check for metal on magnetic plug and filter. Also If it is hard to turn tomorrow I will loosen the bolts on number 2 cylinder and see if that relieves.

I am going to throw the Hydraulic issue into the pot.

Is it Gorilla hard to tun the prop the first revolution and then easier after the second and third revolutions?

Or is it hard to turn at all points in the cycle and not just coming through the compression points?
