One step that I left out of your diagnostic routine from earlier was to tighten all of the bullet connectors on the ignition coils. So, I decided to pull the assembly and just get it done. After detaching the ignition modules and removing the right carb, I could see the Ignition coil primary wires for the #3 top plug wire, but there were no bullet connectors to be found. Also, according to the Rotax manual, there are no bullet connectors. It appears that on the dual 6 pin plug models, the wires go directly from the coil primaries to the 6 pin plugs. So, am I missing something and need to go further into the teardown? Looking forward to your comments,,, Tom
Thanks Bill. I’m installing new EGT probes. Both were now dead and they May offer an additional diagnostic tool. My plan is to then move both carb needle clips up one, to second from the top. Then warm it up and do the carb balance again. Then I will test several things. I will try the choke test again and then start spraying starting fluid around to see if it will show anything up. I do worry about the prop wash getting fluid on the canopy though. I’ll keep you updated. Tom
