I flew my 914 up to 10,500 the other day and when I pulled the power back to descend I was getting low manifold pressure alarms anytime the power was reduced below 3,500 RPM.
First time I ever heard of a LOW Manifold pressure alarm.
At 10,000 ft. the ambient pressure is only 20"Hg.
At Idle your MAP could easily be below 5"Hg.
This is just the Laws of Physics.
