The thread on the engine are Metric but the engine can be ordered with either Metric or Imperial/AN fittings installed in the threads.
The European market prefers Metric fittings and the US market usually gets AN-6 Flared Oil fittings.
Your Oil Tank probably also has the AN-6 fittings brazed in place.

Note: not all carbs actually have a serial number stamp (some of the earlier ones did not)
If your engine is fairly RECENT, (~ last ten years or so) I can look up the carb serial numbers in the factory database, cross-referenced on your engine serial number. ( That's assuming your engine still has the original factory carbs).
Would you mind looking up my engine serial number and provide the carburetor serial numbers for me as well? My engine serial number is 6786520.
