912uls spark plug cap

Hi - can anybody confirm the specific spark plug cap resistance that should be used for my 912uls, 5000 or 10000 ohm? Does it make a difference if you use the wrong one?

Last time I checked it was 5K ohm.

The battery went low and would not start so I charged the battery to 12.5 volts. Started fine but red light still on. However when I checked the voltage with the egine running it was up around 14 volts. Sound like battery or generator? Battery probably original about 10 years old.
