When removing the carburetors for the 200hr inspection, is there a benefit or danger in removing the throttle and choke arms and leaving the cables connected. When reattached the carb sync should be close.
That is perfectly okay and yes the sync should still be very close, but should still be done.
This sounds like something from the Van's forum I just saw? Also no one removes the ball plugs installed from the Bing factory for this inspection as someone stated on Vans.. This is just an inspection not an overhaul. The inspection is easy and straightforward.
