Where is the engine serial number?

Ok, so what I thought was the SN, Rotax said it wasn't when I tried to register it... where on the engine is the S/N? I have a 912UL Im sorry for such a silly question.

Look for the black or red tag up on top of the rear crankcase housing on the left rear part of the engine.

for the non certified engine its a black metal plate at the rear of the engine on top of the generator case, between the 2 carburator, for the certified engine its on the rear of the gera box on a red metal plate

My 912ULS is suppose to be serial # 4426368; although, I cannot find a black or red tag in these mentioned locations. There are some numbers stamped in the bottom of the block on both the right and left side, but none match this number. Where can I find the serial number on the engine?
