Hi All, I have just acquired a Rans S7 with a 912 Ul up front, I have noticed that the coolant temp only gets to around 65/70 deg C and the pressure to 6 psi, (UK Summer) do I need to think about covering a portion of the radiator to increase the temp a little? And will that have the affect of bringing the pressure up, there are no water leakage and it is fitted with a new rad cap.I would have thought the pressure should have gone up to somewhere near the cap pressure of 1.3 bar and not the 6psi indicated on the gauge, I have tested the gauge and it reads ok.

70c or 158F is pretty cold. I would start with a piece of 2" wide aluminum tape (not Duct Tape. the glue makes a mess) and cover the coolant radiator and oil cooler all the way across. If for any reason that isn't enough add 1" at a time until you are at between 200F - 215F.
The 1.2 bar cap is close to 18 psi. If the temp goes up over 95c or 203F I would expect the pressure to rise to. Wait on the pressure and just address the temp first.
What coolant percentage mix are you using and or what coolant?
