Usually on first start you may get a higher oil pressure which settles to a lower number after the engine warms. Some small fluctuation from idle and higher rpms is normal.

Hi
I changed the oil two weeks ago with AeroShell SPORT PLUS 4, but oil temp is reach 130 c ( cht is normal ) and oil pressure is normal around 4000 rpm but is low at idle ,
It usually 120 c while claiming but as soon as I fly level , it comes down to around 100 , but now it's not coming down easily , any suggestions?
Same here. Changed to ASSP4, now oil temperature is higher by at least 15°C, CHT is normal, cannot find any other problem, oil pressure is normal, can't finf blockages in the sytem, turbo charger is good.
Hi Saeid,
Things to look at;
Make sure the oil tank is full. Then make sure you have no oil hoses that have a bend are fully open and not partially closed due to the bend. I just had one in the shop that had a reduced radius. I placed a 1/2" OD spring in the hose at the bend and the problem went away. There is a possibility that the oil cooler needs cleaning. Some fluctuation in pressure can happen between idle and high rpm. Both the oil pressure fluctuation and the temp can be affected by a poor ground wire connections (earthing). Either a loose screw or some corrosion under a screw.
If on the ground the oil fluctuates around 15-20 psi from high rpms I would look for that poor ground connection.
If you have the old oil pressure plug screw and ball bearing I would upgrade to the new style oil pressure plug screw, a new spring and new style oil pressure regulator. (The mushroom :))

Hi. So engine is running again. I have another oil pump - i fully insoected it before assembly looks like new. I have also all set - new style oil,press regulator.
Fluctuation around 2000 is the same. In between i had to repair engine mount so I re-routed tubes and cleaned oil cooler. Behaves the same. Electrical problem - possible but I checked by mechanical gauge.
