I've been having difficulty as well trying to find a CHT sensor in a reasonable price range. My guages are 300*F so I need a sensor to match, however I can't seem to find a 300*F VDO sender with M10 x 1.5 threads. Call me crazy, but I had a VDO 323-423 which is an M10 x 1.0 and I tried running a M10 x 1.5 tap over the threads. To my surprise, I think it turned out excellent. (Some pics attached) I'm not sure if I would use it for an oil sender as the port is open and could potentially leak, however I believe the CHT ports are closed to the water jacket. A $25 sensor sure beats a $189 one if it works!! Any comments, concerns, etc??
