This is a Rotax class test question. How are the spark plug caps attached to the wires? Threaded prong.
All the spark plug caps just unscrew. I would trim the wire back about 3/8" to some nice clean and new wire at the tip. Put a dab of Dielectric grease on the wire tip and screw the new cap back in place.

I just got this important clarification from the factory:
It is allowed to use 8 old spark plugs with 8 old caps (boot, spark plug connector).
It is allowed to use 8 new spark plugs with 8 new caps.
It is allowed to use 8 old spark plugs with 8 new caps.
It is allowed to use 8 new spark plugs with 8 old caps.
It is not allowed to use 1 old spark plug with 7 new spark plugs (and all other combinations of mixture old and new spark plugs).
It is not allowed to use 1 old cap with 7 new caps (and all other combinations of mixture old and new caps).

@Glenn - probably the next revision of that SI will have less ambiguous wording.
Shortly I will send out a correction to our last mailer on the subject. The SI doesn't explicitly say that you can't use old boots with new plugs (and vice-versa). The confusion is due entirely due to my fault in mis-interpretation.
In the SI the phrase "Mixing of spark plug types and spark plug connector types is NOT allowed." was really just a restatement of "All spark plugs and spark plug connectors must be of the same part number for the entire engine ". (I took it the wrong way, thinking it meant that you could not mix the new plugs with the old boots...)
