It may be your ignition switch, is it a rotary left-right-both type switch?
The can cause this type of problem.

Thanks Rob, will try to get another switch, seems odd on a bran new switch.

, also I switched the cables on the ignition switch left to right and the drop also changes from left to right. Very strange situation.

I had a very similar thing happen to my 912uls last summer. after much diagnosis, it was found to be a broken coil primary wire, inside the insulation (the 12v wire). my mechanic had the coil off (about to replace it) and discovered the break inside the insulation. the 12v wire is about 3-4" long, and there was a bulge of sorts.he was able to repair and get it back in service without any new parts.
perhaps Rotax has a has a flaw in their manufacturing methods or .......?.

If the problem did not stay with the switch then the switch is probably OK. It was good to eliminate it.
now swap the upper 6 pin connectors, except the ignition wires. De-pin them and keep them in with respective modules. If the problem moves you have now eliminated the secondary coils/spark plugs/grounds leaving the stator (red wire) and trigger coils.
