Bonjour Jan,
Because I don't want to take out my oil cooler (only one cooler with the Loravia water/oil heat exchanger+thermostat). In summer time, I am afraid the water coller won't be enought.
Because of the price 576€ against "only" 197€
Because it is easier to instal only one small oil regulator than the water/oil exchanger .
But, may be I am wrong?...
Bonjour Eric,
The SH thermostat is good choice. You have to purge the oil which is a delicate but easy operation. You need a unit where you can control the pressure.
In case you would like to control both the oil and water temp the Loravia unit is an interesting option.
You could also ask Mr Krieger of Loravia what is the best choice for your ULM.
Cordialement Jan
I was wondering why Rotax install such thick and rigid caoutchouc hoses in the oil cooling circuit?
It does not help me to install the thermostat in it. And as I understood the pressure and temperature are pretty low in these hoses I'd rather use Silicon hose.
Thanks
Rotax doesn't install oil hoses. The owner does. It may be a private individual or an aircraft company, but Rotax doesn't. Hoses are your choice. There are many different types of oil hose and all oil hose should be in fire sleeve. Teflon is in use, but a don't think I have seen silicone. Using a Teflon hose of a standard rubber based hose shouldn't affect cooling.
