I thought the new replacement floats had a single dot. I replaced my original floats in March or April 2015 before the first engine start. I might be mistaken but I thought the "new" floats had a single dot. One of those "new" floats failed in July after 25 hrs and was replaced under warranty but, again, I think the replacement had a single dot.

Was there another float change or am I just mistaken?

Warranty Replacement floats from last year could have had either one or two dots.

"Two Dots" floats produced AFTER May 9th 2016 are now "known bad" and are now being replaced under warranty with "three dots" floats.

Any "Two Dots" floats produced BEFORE May 9th 2016 are considered "known good".

Ahhh, OK. I remember the ASB but didn't go through it because it didn't apply to my installation so I didn't get to the dot count. Thanks

Do keep in mind that any new ROTAX part has its original factory warranty of 18-24 months or 100/200/400 hours (see Service Letter SL-912-012, section 4.1 for details).

So if a float has failed in that period it should be replaced under warranty regardless of how many dots it has... (although unfortunately this technically won't always apply to replacement of 'replacement' floats, as they do not 'extend' the original warranty of the part originally being replaced)

Is the factory now saying that ROTAX will not warranty or stand behind its "replacement parts"?? Even when the "replacement parts" are to replace factory-defective parts that were required by a Mandatory SB?? We will need to make potential ROTAX customers aware of this glaring product deficiency. Will future 912 engine purchasers have to pay out-of-pocket $100-200 every 75 hours or so just to replace factory-defective floats??? How about some answers other than "we'll have to wait and see". Yes, I am now officially PO'd!
