Carb heat Cable

Hi Friends, I have an issue with my carb
heat On my S7S with. 912. When I pull
It on to active heat it works but as soon as I let go of the knob it goes to the off
Position and closes. My environment is subject to significant carb ice in summer.
I am thinking about replacing cables. One
Other thing I didn't have this problem. 60
hours ago . Appreciate any suggestions .

I have a recent similar problem with my 912 ULS, however my plane has a manual 'twist' on/off valve. The 'off' position is 3 o'clock; a 1/4 counterclockwise turn to 12 o'clock is the 'On' position. The valve appears to be stuck, and I am only able a turn to the 1:30 position and then it wants to close. The engine when new had no problem cycling from the the 3 - 12 o'clock position.
