engine doesn't start after sitting for some time

I have a rans S7. If the airplane has been sitting for a longer period (couple months) without being started, it doesn't seem to get fuel and I have to remove a couple spark plugs and add some fuel into the cylinders to get it going. It's a rotax 912 s, any idea what's going on?

    Hi Eugene,

    It is possible that fuel in the bowls evaporates to a point that you need to crank it to get fuel back up to pressure the system? Other things that cause hard starting. Cold weather, carbs poorly synced, chokes not opening properly (primer or chokes), either very low idle and no throttle at start or too high an idle with too much throttle at start. Sitting may also cause the battery to be down just enough not to spin up the engine fast enough to fire properly. Sitting for a few months may clog the idle jet making it hard to start.

    - Check first, if fuel is coming behind pump- remove the feeder lines on the carb to see it.
    - check the venting of thanks
    - then check the carbs following the instructions in line maintenance manual (remember, that the carbs are working only if between absolute fuel presure in the swimmer chamber and the MAP there is a diference in pressure)

    Check the ignition by choosing only Box A or B if it is possible (starting knob instead of turning key).
