Spark plugs. End cap or no end cap?

Greetz all. Just had a passenger who swears blind that I should be using plugs with a solid aluminum end cap on my 100HP 912 ULS. I've run the engine with the threaded terminal ends for the past 400 hours and never had a problem. What's the deal here? Would the aluminum end cap even fit into the leads? Ta, Mike.
