oil plug (banjo bolt)

On my 912 serial # 6911724 regarding the oil plug. The engine mount of my Searey is too close to the plug and draining the oil is very difficult. The part is called a 'banjo bolt' and the # of this plug is 940874 and I wish to replace it with a 'T' connection to facilitate ease of draining the oil. Has anyone come up with a part for this purposes[img]http://[/img]?

    Joseph,

    The banjo bolt you show in the photo is not where you drain the oil. Once the engine is burped, there will be almost no oil at that fitting. Drain the oil from the bottom of the oil canister.

    Hi Joseph

    I take it this is the first time you have done this. I would suggest you go through the oil change procedure with someone who knows what they are doing before you attempt it or you may find out the hard way that you have done something wrong. If you mess up it will cost you a lot of money, or worse.

    Although it is a simple procedure, it needs to be done right.

    Hi Joseph

    There are videos that explain how to do most maintenance procedures that owners will do.

    I would suggest you watch them a couple of times so you understand how to do something, and more importantly, why you do it that way. If then your not sure about a specific point……Ask.

    Everyone on here is enthusiastic about helping people and will go out of their way to make sure you do things right.

    What I would say is read the maintenance manuals and try and understand how the engine works.
