The float needle has excessive wear. In that case the needle gets longer. So you get less fuel in the carb with the worn needle. Two cylinders on one side of the engine get not enough fuel. No way for the engine to run further. It slows down rapidly. Now throttle back to idle. The remaining fuel flow is enough for that. Reapply power and the same thing happens again.

Hans,
Why does one find so few discussion groups, forums or what have you in Europe, especially in Germany? I have from time to time searched for active, vibrant forums there with the idea that there must be a lot of expertise, but I find almost nothing.

I can't even get the Rorax site to give me any more in German than I can get in English.

If you know of any, I'd be obliged to you if you'd post them. German langauge is fine.

I read the rules and don't see that my request was out of line. If you were sensitive to that, you could have replied by private message. I must assume you prefer not to share that information, which is your privilege. Thanks for giving your explanation and not simply ignoring me. I'll continue to purse my quest in other media. Tchuess - oh, I can't say Tchuess, so I'll say fare well.
