You engine could run as long as 30 min. without coolant. That said it should be at reduced power and watch the temps like a hawk. If the temps climb too high then the heads need to be sent off for hardness testing and a few other checks should be done. 5 min. at reduced power should have not been a big deal. Why did you loose coolant? The hose come off or split?

Roger: tks for the response....hose clamp cut into hose .... should have used ABA style worm geared clamp instead of general purpose worm gear....hose was goodyear hi-miler blue which is a softer silcone 2 layer type...lesson learned.... stick to ABA type worm gear or constant pressure spring type ,,,Regards Gerry
