Although the symptoms are like carb icing, I've been advised that it is almost unheard of on the Eurostar. Also, it does a carb heat system (hot water jackets around the carbs), and both carbs are hot when I've checked them after landing. The other thing of course is that carb icing is more likely to happen on cruise revs, but it's always happened to me on full power.
It's not likely to be carb ice. Those hot water carb heaters do a great job. The lower the RPMs are, the higher the manifold vacuum will be, and the greater the chances for icing.
I believe I'd try Rogers ideas. Check the plug gap, reduce the prop pitch to gain max RPM at WOT, sync the carbs and see what happens.
I'm with Bill. Get all these other items taken care of so they are either out of the equation or they have solved the problem, but they need to be addressed sooner or later and since you are hunting down a ghost problem the sooner is better.
