gearbox oil for 914

in 912 / 914 Technical Questions 12 years ago
hi every one,

Do I need to change the gearbox oil for my 914 engine if yes what type of oil dose rotax advise?

    Hi Saad,

    You gearbox oil and engine oil are the same and when you change oil in the engine it is done for both. There is nothing to do to the gearbox. Use a good full or semi synthetic motorcycle oil. Do not use a car oil because it doesn't have any ZDDP which is there to help protect metal surfaces like our flat tappet lifters and gearbox gears. If you are using 100LL use the semi synthetic.
