Hi Rob l have checked the oil tank and cut opened the oil filter no metal anywhere no one speck it is clean.
The motor had a new number one bearing replaced on the crank after the engine had done 30hrs that was when the previous own had it that was ten years ago the motor was done by the rotax dealer here in Australia.
cheers Geoff.
Hi have completely stripped down the engine nothing anywhere, couldn't get past the top rings unless the barrel was damaged barrel are good except the marks from the spring on number one.
Unless when they rebuilt the engine they broke the ring and it fell out that's all l can think of.
cheers Geoff.
If the ring part is no where to be found and absolutely no signs of damage from it then it wasn't there to start when the engine was serviced. Someone broke it and left it out. That's the only plausible answer.
