Is this procedure approved for 912ULS engines

Mixing 1 quart of Pennzoil 2-stroke motor oil with 1 to 2 gallons of 100LL fuel. Split evenly between each wing tank then complete filling tanks to the top with 100LL. This is done once every 3 to 4 months.
I'm not sure if this is an approved technique or not, nor do I know why it would be done. Can anyone verify? I don't feel comfortable pouring oil into my fuel tanks without knowing the consequences.

Hi Bob,

I'm not sure why anyone would do this. There is no benefit. Your 4 stroke engine was never designed with this in mind and could have consequences. I have read where some used to swear by adding Mystery Oil to 100LL, but scientific research has shown absolutely no value with the few blended lubricants in Mystery Oil.

Many years ago this process was recommended for motor vehicles to improve upper cylinder lubrication ( mainly valves) and for allowing higher octane rated fuel 100/130 to be used on low compression engines, modern materials should have made this process obsolete and I have not heard of it being used for 30+ years.
