Re: new carbs venting fuel at 2500rpm and below

Hey Roger,
you were right. Low RPM causes a major shake and the higher (2500 RPM) makes it smooth out and stop venting fuel. I got up to normal temp and flew the plane for 2 hours at various settings. All good.
A friend with the same plane called me to say that he noticed the same problem on his Kitfox after I had talked to him and he thinks the rubber mounts on the engines are about ten years old. We will replace on both planes.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Joe,
The whole thread shows up on the topic "Carbs venting at low RPM". I just scrolled to the top of the page and read the whole thing that I sent Roger. Can you just scroll up and see the conversation?

Hi Roger,
My engine is 3 1/2 years old.
Mike is correct, the vent tubes are connected to the airbox, it is a factory installation.
Does this change any of the info that you posted?

I had this problem on my Kitfox 4, fuel venting at low rpm's. I performied a carb sync. to assure that both carbs were drawing the exact same vacuum and that corrected the problem. Check your float needles also if they are not seating properly, any vibration will cause them to leak gas past them and out of the vent tubes.
