Oil mat inspection

I recently did the first oil change on my 912 ULS (100 HP) with 26 hours. When I inspected the filter mat I found the small metal particles visible on the image attached. They are so thin that you can not even remove them from the mat as they will disintegrate. Being my first oil change I am worried about this finding, do I need any further testing?

Hi Miguel,

Since this is your first oil change on a new engine I would consider this normal as small areas wear in. Just keep a watch on it over the next oil change or two.
