Prop is working good, I need to do some more flying with it but preliminary test flights are all positive :) I have been more concentrating on the engine temps on climb than fpm, but I did notice it at 1200fpm at one point. My first flight with the jet needle position in a leaner #2 c-clip position , I decided to go with no tape on oil cooler , or coolant radiator, just in case things got hotter than wanted! It's been warm here , last flight Dec 25 it was +2 C ( got some mud spray on the wings) not a normal prairie Xmas temp! The thermostat for the coolant does seem to keep temps stable, time will tell when it gets down in the -15C range if it can keep the cockpit heater supplied with hot enough coolant.
The prop pitch directly affects the engine temps. make sure the prop is set correctly or worrying about engine temps will be frustrating. If you have the prop set to get 5500-5600 rpm WOT with your ground adjustable prop at your average flight altitude then you can get a decent handle on the temps. If you overload the prop and can only get 5200 rpm WOT then your temps will be higher not to mention the extra stress on the engine.
