    It sounds like your trigger coil has been disrupted during the ring mount installation. Check the gap and that all the correct spacers are installed correctly. You should have two raised triggers (A) and two lower triggers (B). They should be in alignment with the raised and lower “cams” (or “tabs”) on the flywheel.
    Note: you do not need to touch or remove the triggers to install the ring mount but we have seen this same scenario twice now. You just need to disconnect them at the pin connector so I don’t know why some people are making it more complicated than it needs to be.

    Robert, I think you are right. Two out of three new 912 installations in this area on ring mounts have needed to alter the bracket referred to above. I am guessing that in so doing, the trigger coils are moved somehow.
    In one case a new bracket was made, he is a aircraft engineer and advised I would need do the same. Sure enough the bracket as fitted would not allow the engine into the ring mount. I took it off, bent it 180 deg, turned it around and this allowed the engine to be fitted to the ring mount.

    Confirmed: trigger coils were re set and all is well again. Problem is the bracket described above, does not allow motor to be mounted to the ring mount with out modifying it. This means removing the trigger coils to get to it.
