voltage regulator questions

Fuses protect against overcurrent.  Rotax does not provide any overvoltage protection.

A fuse doesn't provide over voltage protection. A fuse responds to current (amps) not voltage.

I want to challenge this statement, I believe it is incorrect. 

The 912ULS is carbureted and DOES use a shunt-type regulator. The Ducati and Silent Hektic are both shunt-type. 
The 912ULS is a single stator permanent magnet alternator.

The 912is has 2 alternators and uses smart/switch-mode-style (not shunt). The 912is is a dual stator permanent magnet alternator X 2.

The B and C regulator seems to provide over voltage protection. Do the other offerings also have this feature?

I am waiting for a technical reply, to your question, from CARMO, Holland.

In the mean time the schematic of the CARMO CARR5115 VR shows a Regulated Voltage of 14.5 +/- .5V. Dos this answer your question?
