Which is the more thirsty...503 or 582.

I always thought the 582 must be more thirsty but looking at the fuel burn graph in the Rotax owners manual after discusion....the 503 seem to burn more...or am I reading it wrong????

Hi,

this is not the same power .. 64hp vs 50hp

specific fuel consumption of aircooled rotax is higher than liquidcooled ones

500 vs 410

that means that @25kw (33hp , approx minium to stay at the level in a 2 seat ultralight) , 503 will consume 12.5/0.775=16 l/h when for the same power 582 will suck 13.2L/h

Thats what I thought Ludovic....but a fellow flyer was saying the 503 uses more according to the Rotax graph in the user manual,

And when I looked myself it did look hat way...I will have to take another read of it.
