Hi Steve,

Occasional air bubbles are not unusual. Sometimes, if your fuel tank is lower than your carb, air can be pulled in through a slightly worn viton tip on a float valve as the fuel tries to return to the tank. Sometimes heat can expand fuel in the lines and cause bubbles. I've seen very few systems with clear fuel lines that didn't have some bubbles in the lines after standing. If you have checked all the fittings and have no leaks or damaged fuel lines, I wouldn't worry about it. As fuel is pumped into the carb, the air bubbles will go with it. The air will then be vented out the overflow tube from the carb bowl. If you check the lines after a flight you will probably see no air except maybe a little in the fuel filter, and if the filter is mounted vertically, there will be none there either. Let it sit overnight and the bubbles will appear.

As a follow up, I checked my fuel bowl gasket on the line that had the air pockets and noticed that the gasket was not seated properly. I reinserted it and ran the engine for about 5 minutes. Then waited about 4 hours and did not see any more bubbles or air pockets in the fuel intake line.
