hi, I have just buy an accident ultralight with in Rotax 532.
on this engine there is not Brown cable for Ground (mass) connection.
there in only 3 couple of cables (2 yellow, 2 green and 2 black), but not brown cable. where can I found mass on engine?
regards
You can make your own ground wire. Just connect a wire to any small screw on the engine block and and connect the other end to the aircraft frame. If I remember correctly, the brown wire is usually connected to a small screw at the magneto end of the motor near the wiring harness.
The brown mass wire is not connected internally. The Rotax brown wire is about 15 cm. long with a ring terminal on one end which is connected to any screw on the engine block. It is usually connected to a screw near the wires which come out of the magneto housing. It really doesn't matter which screw it is connected to. It can be connected anywhere on the engine block. The other end of the wire can be connected to the airframe, a ground busbar, an instrument, or all of these things. On many engines, this wire is not used at all and grounding is done in different ways.
