Agustin,
It sounds like the wiring is right. The two wires from the engine supply AC volts to the regulator. The two going from the regulator to the battery. are DC voltage. If you can get the engine started, you don't have to disconnect the wiring to check it. If you have about 12.5 to 13.5 volts on the battery terminals with your engine running, the regulator is OK.

Hello. I just joined Rotax-Owner a few minutes ago and this topic jumped out at me because I also had a charging problem on my 582UL in my gyroplane. This may have been a problem unique to me but here's what happened.
I bought my gyroplane used and it came installed with a Kunzleman "hot Box" which is a device where you basically hook up anything electrical to, and it includes a voltage regulator. Also wired into the hot box was a ceramic piece about 3 inches long with two wires connected to the regulator. After several seasons of dead batteries I sent the hot box back to Kunzleman to see what they could find.
Turns out that the ceramic piece was ALSO a voltage regulator, probably the one that was originally installed before the hot box was added. Removing the ceramic one fixed the problem. Bottom line is that you can't have two voltage regulators on the same system.
