Mine, is free sample from the manufacturer. I just need to keep my hands clear of the prop.

Take a look at the posts under "carb balancing". Lots of good info there on how to balance a 582 without a manometer. I know how you feel about the prop. Its a dangerous situation. The manometer is an absolute must for the 912, but you are not so close to the prop when using it as you are with a 582. You can do a decent job on a 582 without it.
